Applicants are required to attach self -attested photocopies of all the required documents with the application form. Original documents must be produced at the counter for verification. You need to submit the following documents: Old passport in original with self-attested photocopy of its first two and last two pages, including ECR/Non-ECR page (previously ECNR), the page of observation (if any) made by Passport Issuing Authority and validity extension page, if any, in respect of short validity passport and Proof of present address
The following documents required in order to apply for a renewal of passport like original old passport, self attested copy of the first two and last two pages, self attested copy of the ECR/Non-ECR page, self attested copy of the page of observation, if any, made by Passport Issuing authority, self attested copy of the validity extension page, if any, in respect of short validity passport and proof of documents which eliminate the cause of issuance of Short Validity Passport (SVP).
The police verification will be done at all the three addresses where the applicant has resided in the last one year.
The validity of passport would be decided by Assistant Passport Officer/RPO , if you apply for renewal of Short Validity Passport.
Applicant is not required to provide any additional documents to verify his alias name.
One of the following documents must be submitted as address proof and age proof for tatkal passport like election id card with present address, aadhaar card, phone bill with current address, gas connection, bank passbook, rental agreement if staying in a rented house, income tax assessment order, water bill with current address, electricity bill with current address, certificate from employer on letterhead with a seal and signature, passport of the spouse, parents’ passport, birth certificate issued by the municipal authority or any other office authorized to issue the birth certificate, school leaving certificate/ secondary school leaving certificate etc.
In case your passport has been damaged but recognizable, i.e. passport number is readable, name is legible and photo is undamaged, then you can apply for re-issue of passport under the Tatkal scheme. But, if passport has been damaged beyond recognition, then you cannot apply under the Tatkal scheme. In that case, you need to visit Passport Officer at your nearest Passport Seva Kendra to get the passport on urgent basis.
In such cases, minors can be issued passport under the Tatkal scheme subject to Passport Officer's approval.
Two appointment quota 'Normal' and 'Tatkal' are available for 'Tatkal' applications. Tatkal applicants who are not able to book an early appointment under Tatkal quota may consider booking an appointment under Normal quota also. However, Tatkal fee will be charged irrespective of the quota under which appointment was booked byTatkal applicant. A Tatkal application is not only to get an early appointment but also for faster processing .
ou must provide the following documents like original old passport, self attested copy of the first and last two pages of the passport, self attested copy of ECR or Non-ECR page, self attested copy of validity extension, an affidavit that gives information about how the passport got damaged, age proof, birth certificate issued by the municipal authority or any other office authorized to issue the birth certificate and school leaving certificate/ Secondary school leaving certificate etc. Also, you want to do any changes in the existing passport, provide attested copy of marriage certificate issued by the registrar of marriages, a joint affidavit from wife and husband along with a photograph together, affidavit as per annexure k and self-attested photocopy of the spouse's passport.
To change the date of birth in your passport, you have to apply for re-issue of passport and get the specified change done in the personal particulars.
To apply for duplicate passport in case of lost or damaged passport, you need to apply for "Re-issue" of passport.
If you have lost your passport during traveling, then you can come to India on the basis of "Emergency Certificate". For the issuance of "Emergency Certificate", you need to contact the respective mission/post of that country.
Photocopy of the old passport is not a mandatory document to be submitted in case of lost/damaged/stolen passport. It should be produced, if it is available. But you will be required to produce, the previous passport details like passport number, Date of issue, Date of expiry and place of issue, while filling the passport application form. If you do not have that information, then contact the respective passport officer.
